Uganda breweries Limited (UBL) has launched the fourth edition of the culture campaign to celebrate, promote and reward different cultures in Uganda. Dubbed Senator Cultural Gala, the campaign was launched recently and the festival will run for seven months started yesterday in Kisoro District. Launching the gala at UBL headquarters at Luzira, Mr Edgar Birungi, the Senator brand manager, said the campaign will run until February next year.“The Senator Cultural Gala is expected to attract several participants across the country. Twenty district Senator Galas will be created leading up to 10 regional finals and eventually one grand finale,” he said.

He said this year’s campaign will reward customers with Shs25 million in cash and other prizes such as bicycles and T-shirts.“The company has injected up to Shs 800 million and will be working closely with Nile Beat Artistes and the panel of judges will be headed by lecturers from Makerere University, Kyambogo and Kampala International University,” Mr Birungi added. According to Mr Haruna Walusimbi, the managing director of Nile Beat Artistes, the competitions will be divided into four categories, which will include cultural dances, folk songs, original songs composition as Solo or duet.
